The Second ANHS Himalayan Studies Conference

September 21-23, 2012
Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI

The Association for Nepal and Himalayan Studies is pleased to announce its second conference from September 21-23, 2012 at the Fetzer Center on the campus of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The conference is being held in conjunction with the 61st Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs. The ANHS invites a variety of formats for paper presentations, including those listed below, and encourages panels that are inter-disciplinary and allow for audience participation and discussion.

  1. Traditional panel presentations by four panelists (including a discussant).
  2. Workshops devoted to intensive discussions of papers presented.  Papers (restricted to three) will be posted online (accessible with a password to registered conference participants).  Commentators will discuss the paper, and the authors will respond briefly, after which discussion will be widened to include the audience.
  3. Roundtable discussions on a topic of broad interest, with a number of participants and a moderator.
  4. Panels focused on discussing a recent significant publication or film.
  5. Submissions of individual paper proposals are also welcome.

Once you submit your proposal below, please make to pay registration fee. Those abstracts without the property registration fees will not be reviewed for the conference.
